Kyoto 101, my college town
Kyoto is an old capital of Japan.  A surprise!  The streets and the ordinary buildings are as ugly as hell.  It looks like a nighmare of every city planner.  Still they got beautiful temples, gardens, the river, and beautiful mountains to visit.

When to visit
Every 3rd Friday there is a free market held at a XXX temple (the one near Ritsumeikan university).  A lot of second hand kimono are sold at a bargain prices ranging from a thousand yen (8$) to a few hundred dollars.  I thought it would make a nice trip itinary to include a visit to this or other sorts of free markets.

Accomodations
My friend got me a list of extremely cheap places to visit.  I don't know if they are good or bad, but FYI, download a MS-WORD document.  Click here.
